Danielson 5-wire touch screens

5-wire touch screens, unlike other resistive technologies do not suffer from wear and degradation of the touch screen’s top layer. This technology therefore provides for an unrivalled durability when compared to 4- or 8-wire touch sensors and can withstand up to 35 million operations at any given point. Unlike 4- or 8-wire touch screens the voltage gradients required to determine a touch location are, on a 5-wire touch screen entirely generated on the bottom layer of the sensor. As this layer is comprised of crystalline transparent, conductive Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) on a hard, in-flexible substrate it is virtually indestructible.
