CapKey is Danielson's solution for capacitive keys. It provides advantageous design possibilities when involving the keys. CapKey detects the presence of a human finger by constantly monitoring the electrical capacity of the touch area. A human finger will change the value of this electrical capacity and CapKey translates this into an action.
This capacitive key technology is an alternative to traditional push button switches. It requires no mechanical movement and therefore enables a completely sealed and innovative design. CapKey is growing fast in industrial and medical applications due to the highly effective combination with Projected Capacitive Touchscreens (PCAP), improved aesthetics and cost effectiveness.
CapKey from Danielson consists of a customized outer glass layer, the cover lens, with a sensor circuit mounted invisibly at the rear. This construction can resist scratches, impacts, vandalism, dusty environments and harsh cleaning fluids. Danielson designs with you the solution to meet all your requirements.

CapKey and PCAP: a highly effective combination
The Projected Capacitive Touchscreens (PCAP) technology from Danielson enables a touch to be sensed through a protective front on top of a display. This allows touch screens to be installed behind glass cover lenses or vandal resistant glass. PCAP from Danielson consists of a customized outer glass layer with a specialized sensor and a controller chip.
CapKey together with PCAP forms a highly effective combination as an integrated solution, to make full use of all the benefits of both technologies. Danielson can design and manufacture this complete MMI-solution for you.
